Whether you are a long-time friend of Voluntary Simplicity or a newcomer to the movement, we invite you to join us as we travel along a path toward a simpler way of living. You may be seeking a more joyful life, a life with greater satisfaction and meaning, a healthier, less stressful existence, deeper connections and more time with friends and family, freedom from the "rat race" or a way of living that is more friendly to the earth. These are some of the benefits people who embark on this journey experience.
"The ability to simplify means to eliminate the unnecessary so that the necessary may speak." ~Hans Hofmann, Introduction to the Bootstrap, 1993

Date: Monday, June 9, 2008, 7-9 p.m.
Location: Common Room, First Unitarian Universalist Church of San Diego
Topic: Voluntary Simplicity: From Dysfunction to Covenant
Description: he Reverend Jim Grant leads June's Voluntary Simplicity meeting. Do you remember that old axiom: “All the world is strange but thee and me; and thou art a little strange!” In other words, we all have those times when we are not our best selves with some degree of dysfunction; more pronounced to be sure in people who are plagued with free floating anxiety or anger. Life can be difficult around such people. Reverend Grant invites us to think with him about how we may be a community which honors and covenants together even on our worst days.
